DAILIES TOTAL1 lenses are the first daily disposable contact lenses made from silicone hydrogel to have a water gradient. This means that the water content increases from 33% in the core of the lens to over 80% on the surface, which equals the water content on the surface of the eye. The material in the core of the lens is highly oxygen permeable because of the water content there only being 33%. Overall, the combination makes these lenses extremely comfortable to wear.
